One of the first adopters for Stack of Brands initiative was ledvonal.hu a leading online traders of LED lighting equipment in Hungary. LEDvonal is trading with over 6000 part numbers / SKU's uploaded to its web store.

Its challenge has always been how to add fast more products while keeping update the existing portfolio. We asked Nikolett Poncsák, the Marketing Manager of LEDvonal about those challenges in more detail and she was prompt to point out the most important ones:

 

  • As we strive to keep our end user well informed about every product we keep in our web store, mass product import does not have a play in our business model. We upload each and every product manually, we add detailed product description, list the relevant product properties and even give hints on the application of the products. That is a labor intensive process and it is a limitation to add as many products as we would like to.
  • Maintaining the appropriate stock level for the most of those 6000 products is a challenge, especially when it comes to which size? which color? which sub-variants, etc.
  • Import just the right quantity from our vendors from Far-East or monitor the stock levels of our vendors within Europe is another time and energy consuming exercise.
  • Long transit times when it comes to import the products from Far-East.
  • Keep up the right product mix in our portfolio that covers most of the demands and applications of our customers.
